Autosomal DNA Testing Comparison Chart
To see more information about the major testing companies, please visit
their web sites below. Please note that - unlike the genealogy web sites - unless you have
your DNA results on one of these web sites, there is limited exploration possible. But
you can check what a company offers, and their fees.
- 23andMe
- FamilytreeDNA
- Ancestry DNA
- National Geographic Genographic Project
- MyHeritageDNA
- LivingDNA
You might like to consider using GEDmatch which does not do testing, but
which provides a comparison of DNA tested by 23andMe, FamilyTreeDNA, AncestryDNA and MyHeritageDNA.

BIFHSGO DNA Special Interest Group
Some of the research room assistants will be able to answer your
questions about DNA, but if you wish to dig further into the subject, we suggest
you look into our DNA Special Interest Group.
The group meets quarterly at the City of Ottawa Central Archives to share
experiences, information, and ideas about the use of DNA evidence in exploring
family history. We invite BIFHSGO members and non-members to join us for
any of the following
meeting dates.
Please check our DNA homepage.
See for example the section "Resources and handouts from our
meetings" and the handout by Shirley Monkhouse:
