LANARK HIGHLANDS

The Storm Internet team started with Lakeland, where we prepared a total of 18 homes, and connected 7. On 12C, we have passed 8 homes, but had to pause progress due to winter weather and the ground freezing.

We are currently working on getting funding from ISED, as the subsidy is required to continue the project.

Subject to funding, the team is expecting to resume work in April as the ground thaws.

Storm Internet is investing resources to build this infrastructure, which is an extension of the project that began in 2017 in Clayton, connecting hundreds of new customers at Storm Internet’s expense. 2021 was the first year that Storm Internet has been subsidized for this fibre project.

In a separate project in Middleville, we have upgraded the node to provide 50 Mbps down/10 Mbps up service, with 23 customers already signed up for the new capability. For new information, please contact our Residential Sales Manager, Jason Riddick, at jriddick@corp.storm.ca

Update May 10th, 2022: Storm Internet is pleased to announce that we have received the funded contribution agreement for Lanark Highlands. The expected completion date for the project is approximately August 25th, 2022.

Recently Middleville got a 50/10 upgrade. More in Lanark Highlands to come.

Storm Internet is investing in the internet in Lanark Highlands. We expect to invest more than $1,000,000 in 2022 for Storm Internet’s planned upgrades for the area, including FTTH (fibre to the home) and 50/10 wireless.

Storm Internet on White Lake

Over the past couple of months, we have heard from many of our current customers on White Lake requesting faster speeds. By bringing this to our attention, we were able to do the necessary research to determine a plan of action for the next couple of weeks and months for the community.

Storm Internet held a community update back in mid-March for the residents. We were given an overall idea of what the community was looking for. To get more information, we asked anyone in the White Lake area to fill out a survey. We are always looking to get additional information. If you have not yet filled out the survey, you can still fill it out here. Please only one submission per household. If you or someone in your home have already filled out the survey, please do not fill it out a second time.

Our team held a virtual community update on April 27th. During the meeting, we determined that the next step in the process is to get commitment letters from those who are interested in the area. For for information, click the link below.

We are working on looking through the commitment forms to make a decision by Wednesday, May 18th, 2022.
