Currently Seeking:

Field Technician, Full-Time

On a full-time, permanent basis, the Field Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing internet, camera, Wi-Fi, and data services for residential and business customers. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently, and with a team, in the field. The Field Technician serves as the face of the company, ensuring that every customer interaction reflects professionalism, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure internet, phone, and networking equipment (modems, routers, Wi-Fi systems, cabling,
    radio antenna [roof or tower], etc.) at customer locations.
  • Ensure installations meet company standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues for residential and commercial clients.
  • Perform routine maintenance on network infrastructure, including cabling, nodes, and equipment.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to network operations or engineering teams when necessary.
  • Provide clear communication and support to customers throughout the installation or repair process.
  • Educate customers on equipment usage, service features, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Represent the company professionally and uphold a strong customer satisfaction record.
  • Complete detailed service tickets, work orders, and time logs using mobile or digital systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, materials used, and service outcomes.
  • Other related duties in support of operations (i.e. excavation for fiber drop, building equipment, warehouse
    duties, deploy/maintain generators and UPS backups, etc.)
  • Report field conditions, safety hazards, and opportunities for service improvements.
  • Report unsafe conditions, technical issues, or process improvements to management.

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary technical training preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in telecommunications, IT networking, or related technical field, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, routing, and wireless technology.
  • Understanding of fiber optics, Ethernet, and DOCSIS or GPON technologies preferred.
  • Comfortable working at heights (ladder and tower climbing up to 61 meter/200 feet), Fall Protection
    Training certification required, or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, drills and cable installation equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong time management skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Experience in documenting work – online using database software, uploading images, etc.
