Do I need a Storm Internet connection to get IPTV?
Yes, you do need to have a Storm Internet connection to be able to get IPTV services. A minimum download speed of 10 Mbps is required, however, download speeds of 15 Mbps or higher is recommended.
I have a Smart TV. Do I still need a Set Top Box (STB)?
Yes, you always need a Set Top Box (STB) for Sinterix/Storm Television.
What equipment do I need?
To stream television you will need an STB, which is available as a Rent-to-Own ($14.95 +HST/month for 10 months) or a purchase ($129.95+HST).
You may add up to 3 additional set top boxes to your account. Download speeds up to 25Mbps would be required for more than 1 set top box.
*Please note each television requires an STB.
What is IPTV?
IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television, meaning an internet connection is used to deliver live television broadcasts to your home. This service brings you specialty channels just like cable does. The difference is that IPTV can support other features as well, including HDTV & 4K resolution, and cloud-based PVR services.
IPTV differs from your typical television programs. Regular TV shows are broadcasted into your household via rooftop antenna, satellite dish, or fibre optic cables. IPTV allows you to stream your favourite channels and shows through your internet connection.
Am I able to record my shows?
Yes, you are able to record multiple live programs simultaneously. You can even schedule your favourite shows and movies to be recorded one time, or on a recurring basis.
Yes, all channels have closed captioning abilities.
Yes, as long as the STB is connected to your television via HDMI cable, you will be able to stream from anywhere in your home while you are connected to your Wi-Fi network or via ethernet cable.
Am I required to sign a one year commitment?
Your STB Rent-to-Own fee will be removed from your account 10 months from the date of Activation. Should you cancel your service prior to the set Term, you agree to be invoiced for the remainder of the purchase price of the equipment.
